Outdoors, in the small plaza between the Front Campus buildings and Van Deusen Hall, another new project has taken shape. Cast in concrete and carved out of sandstone, this intriguing outdoor sculpture garden has "knowledge" as its theme. Brinsley Tyrrell, Kent State emeritus professor of art, won the commission after a national competition. Kent State art students helped to carry out this impressive sculpture project, which was funded by the Ohio Arts Council.
